Our "Giving Back" Project

How we give back

At Salt & Cedar, we believe in helping and supporting our local community as well as various global causes. For every product sold, we will donate $2 of every order to the charity below. Every 6 months we will choose a new charity to help support. Charities will include organizations that are helping wilderness conservation, animals, and helping people.

Lydia Place, Our Purpose
At Lydia Place, we never forget our tagline, “every family deserves a home”.

We understand that a home is an essential ingredient in a stable, healthy family life. We also recognize it is only one of the needs that must be met for families to achieve sustained independence. Over the years, we have widened our lens to begin to focus on a multiple generation approach that seeks to build support for families in all aspects of their lives, not just housing.

It starts with a key; helping to open a door to safety, possibility, and hope. But, we don’t stop at the threshold. Lydia Place is committed to disrupting the cycle of homelessness and promoting sustained independence for current and future and generations – one person, one family, at a time.

Lydia Place, The Organization: Lydia Place is a nonprofit, community-based agency that has been serving homeless families and individuals in Whatcom County since 1989. Lydia Place provides permanent supportive housing for families and adults, housing case management, parent education, lifeskills classes, counseling, children’s classes, group connections and a robust array of programming aimed at ending homelessness – and sustaining independence.

Lydia Place is the largest provider of housing and housing case management for families experiencing homelessness in Whatcom County, serving over 400 local households each year.
